The Quiet Inventory

Every object left in a library the city has already sold.

Before a public library is turned over to its buyer, Jonah Peck films the inventory: chairs, card catalogs, a lost-and-found of single gloves, the marginal notes nobody catalogued. The structure is a list. The argument is about what a city owes the people who used the building as a room rather than a service.

It is the shortest film in the program and the one most likely to change how the lobby sounds afterward. Saturday in the Studio, Sunday before the closing film.
